# Handbook — Personal Digital Brand
## Daily Operating Procedure (SOP)

**Treat this like a job.**
**Identity:** The AI Systems Builder
**Products in the story:** Startup HQ (Zeno) · AuraOS · Sentinel
**Never start by writing content.**

```
Research  →  Engage  →  Create  →  Review
```

Content is the *last* creative act of the day — not the first.

| Doc | Role |
|-----|------|
| **This handbook** | Full job SOP (source of truth) |
| [AGGRESSIVE-GROWTH.md](./AGGRESSIVE-GROWTH.md) | Level 3 volumes, weekly action targets, growth ranges |
| [daily-recurring-tasks.md](./schedule/daily-recurring-tasks.md) | Compressed day when you only have 60–90 min |
| [brand-positioning.md](./brand-positioning.md) | What you are allowed to talk about |
| [reddit-communities.md](./playbooks/reddit-communities.md) | Where Reddit replies/posts may go |

---

## The golden ratio (read this first)

Most people think:

```
Content  →  Followers
```

Reality:

```
Research  →  Comments  →  Relationships  →  Content  →  Followers  →  Customers
```

Content is only one piece. Research and comments do most of the compounding.

---

## Four phases (every day)

| Phase | Job | Output |
|-------|-----|--------|
| **1. Research** | Know what the market is talking about *today* | Topics list + pain notebook |
| **2. Engage** | Become memorable in other people’s threads | 10 Reddit + 20–30 X + 10 LI comments |
| **3. Create** | Ship product proof, then one idea → all platforms | Posts + screenshots |
| **4. Review** | Ask *why*, not only *how many* | Analytics notes + tomorrow’s hook |

---

# Phase 1 — Research

## 7:30 AM — Intelligence gathering (30 min)

**Open:**

- Reddit
- X (Twitter)
- LinkedIn
- Hacker News
- Product Hunt
- GitHub Trending
- Google News

**Goal:** Find what people are talking about **TODAY**.

**Ask:**

| Question | Capture |
|----------|---------|
| What launched? | Name + one line |
| What broke? | Incident / outage / backlash |
| What is controversial? | Debate worth a take |
| What questions are repeated? | Content fuel |
| What competitors launched? | Watchlist |

**Write everything down** in [research-notebook.md](./schedule/research-notebook.md) (or today’s dated copy).

### Example — Today’s Topics

```
✓ GPT API pricing change
✓ YC applications
✓ AI coding agents
✓ Indie hacking distribution
✓ MCP
✓ Cursor update
✓ Claude release
✓ Competitor X soft launch
```

---

## 8:00 AM — Community scan (30 min)

Visit your [target subreddits](./playbooks/reddit-communities.md).

**Not to post. To observe.**

```
Open sub  →  Top / Hot  →  Questions  →  Problems  →  Discussions  →  New founders  →  Pain points
```

**Example scan — r/startups**

- Top 20 posts
- Questions people ask
- Problems
- Discussions
- New founders
- Pain points

**Pain Points notebook (rolling):**

```
Finding cofounders
Pricing
Validation
Hiring
Marketing
Distribution
AI cost / agents that don’t stick
Founder tool sprawl   ← Zeno / Startup HQ wedge
```

This list **is** future content. Do not invent topics from thin air when the notebook is full.

---

## 8:30 AM — Opportunity hunting (30 min)

Find posts where:

- Fewer than **10** comments
- Posted within **~60 minutes**
- High-quality question

**Then reply.** This is still Research→Engage bridge; you are hunting, then answering.

**Not:**

> Great idea.

**Instead:** best answer you can give (depth over emoji). Become memorable.

**Daily target from this block onward:** **10 Reddit replies** (see Reddit SOP).

---

# Phase 2 — Engage

Never sell. Never mention Startup HQ / Zeno unless **directly relevant** to the question (and allowed by that sub’s tier).

## Reddit SOP

```
Open  →  New  →  Unanswered questions  →  Write best answer  →  Move on  →  Repeat
```

| Rule | Detail |
|------|--------|
| Daily | **10** helpful replies |
| Max posts | **1** detailed post / day (often 0) |
| Never | Bare links, “check my startup,” same text across many subs |
| Tier A | r/startups, r/Entrepreneur, etc. — answers only; no feed promo ([dossier](./playbooks/reddit-communities.md)) |

---

## Twitter (X) SOP

```
Following  →  Latest  →  VCs · Founders · Engineers · AI researchers  →  Comment
```

**Not:**

> Nice.

**Instead:**

> Interesting. We saw something similar while building Sentinel.
> The surprising part wasn’t inference cost — it was data quality.
> Cleaning merchant data took longer than the model itself.

People notice specifics.

| Rule | Detail |
|------|--------|
| Daily | **20–30** comments |
| Posts | Morning + afternoon + evening (see Create) |

---

## LinkedIn SOP

```
Feed  →  Customers · Founders · Investors · Industry leaders  →  Comment thoughtfully
```

**Avoid:** 🔥🔥🔥 · 100% · Nice

**Do:** tell a short story or add one concrete lesson.

| Rule | Detail |
|------|--------|
| Daily | **10** meaningful comments |
| Posts | **1** quality post |

---

## Networking (daily)

DM (no pitching):

- One founder
- One engineer
- One investor

Template:

> I enjoyed your post about [specific thing]. [One sentence of your experience]. Curious how you handled [adjacent problem].

Relationships compound. Pitching kills them.

---

# Phase 3 — Create

## Research notebook → content fuel

Every day collect (same notebook):

- Questions
- Problems
- Stories
- Interesting tweets
- Lessons
- Customer conversations
- Launches
- Ideas
- Metrics

**This becomes content.** You do not brainstorm cold.

---

## Build something (every day)

Ship something on Zeno / Startup HQ (or supporting product):

- UI · Feature · Bug fix · Diagram · Architecture · Screenshot

**Document it** → drop proof in `assets/`.

No ship → weak Create phase.

---

## Content creation (45 min)

**Now** write. Not random.

**Choose one:**

```
Lesson | Mistake | Win | Failure | Launch | Customer insight | Technical deep dive
```

**Turn one idea into:**

```
Twitter  →  LinkedIn  →  Reddit  →  Blog  →  Newsletter
```

Same idea. Different format. ([templates](./templates/post-frameworks.md))

### Platform create quotas

| Platform | Create | Engage (from Phase 2) |
|----------|--------|------------------------|
| **X** | Morning: 1 post · Afternoon: 1 technical insight · Evening: 1 lesson | 20–30 comments |
| **LinkedIn** | 1 quality post | 10 comments |
| **Reddit** | 1 detailed post **max** (often skip) | 10 helpful comments |

**Zeno / Startup HQ mention policy:** context only unless the platform/sub allows soft CTA (see [daily-recurring-tasks.md](./schedule/daily-recurring-tasks.md) guardrails).

---

## Learning block (30 min)

Read from:

- Blogs · Papers · YC essays · OpenAI · Anthropic · Stripe · Linear · Figma

Then **share one lesson** (can be the evening X post or tomorrow’s hook).

---

# Phase 4 — Review

## Night — Analytics

Review:

| Signal | Note |
|--------|------|
| Followers / connections | Trend, not vanity |
| Comments | Quality of conversation |
| Impressions | What format traveled |
| Karma | Reddit reputation |
| Best comment | Why it worked |
| Worst post | Why it failed |
| Most viewed | Topic–format fit |

**Ask: Why?**
Not only: How many?

Log in [this-week.md](./schedule/this-week.md) and [growth-tracker.md](./schedule/growth-tracker.md).

---

# Weekly routine

| Day | Focus |
|-----|--------|
| **Monday** | Industry research (heavier Phase 1) |
| **Tuesday** | Technical deep dive |
| **Wednesday** | Build in public |
| **Thursday** | Founder lessons |
| **Friday** | Thread |
| **Saturday** | Community engagement (heavier Phase 2) |
| **Sunday** | Review week + plan next |

---

# Monthly routine

Review:

```
Top posts  →  Top comments  →  Most saved  →  Most shared  →  Most profile visits
```

**Double down** on what worked. Kill what didn’t. Update [brand pillars](./brand-positioning.md) only if the identity drifts — don’t chase trends that break the brand.

---

**Busy day:** use the 25-min / 60–90 min compressions in [daily-recurring-tasks.md](./schedule/daily-recurring-tasks.md) — but keep order: **Research → Engage → Create → Review**. Never Create first.

---

# Product vision note (why this handbook matters)

This workflow is **35–50 repetitive micro-tasks** every day:

Finding trending topics · scanning Reddit · unanswered questions · ranking opportunities · competitors · influencers · screenshots · product→posts · repurposing · measuring · follow-ups · analytics…

**None of that is your scarce skill.**

Your scarce skills:

- Building products
- Sharing genuine experiences
- Giving thoughtful advice
- Forming opinions

Everything else is **coordination**.

That is the wedge for a future product (and for Startup HQ / Zeno GTM thinking):

> Not “AI writes social posts.”
> An **AI Chief of Staff for professional reputation** — research, organization, and execution *around* your voice.

This handbook is the human SOP that product should eventually automate.
